What brand identity design is
A brand identity is everything that makes a company recognisable and trusted at a glance: the idea it stands for, its name and voice, its logo, its typography and colour, and the system that carries them across every touchpoint. Brand identity design is the work of building all of that on purpose, from one clear idea, so that every piece points the same way.
It is not the same as a logo. A logo is one part of an identity, the part people see first. The identity is what makes the logo mean something, and what keeps a website, a pitch deck, a product interface and a trade-show stand looking like one company.
Why it matters before scale
Every company is measured against the biggest name in its category, long before it is big. Investors read a pitch against the category leader’s brand. Enterprise buyers decide whether a company is safe to trust before the first call is booked. The best people join the company that already looks like it will win.
A brand identity with weight does not wait for scale. It is one of the causes of it.
What a brand identity includes
The scope depends on the package, but a complete identity from Arvonn covers:
- The idea at the centre. One sentence the whole identity is built from, found through research and positioning.
- Logo and symbol system. Primary and secondary lockups and the symbol, built on one construction. More under logo design.
- Typography and colour. Typefaces, a clear hierarchy and a defined palette for screen and print.
- Graphic language. The shapes, grids, imagery and motion that make the brand recognisable where the logo is absent. More under visual identity.
- Brand applications. The identity applied where the company meets its market, such as a pitch deck, social templates, stationery and signage.
- Brand guidelines. Clear rules for logo, type, colour, layout and application, written to be used.
- Every file. All production files with editable sources, and full ownership on final payment.
How we design a brand identity
The work runs in four stages, each reviewed by the founder before it reaches you.
- Understand. The market, the gap and the audience, before a single mark is drawn: research and audit, the category landscape and the insight.
- Define. One idea at the centre, and a position that gives the company weight. Everything else is built around it. This is brand strategy.
- Create. Constructed, not styled. Every mark, grid and letterform is built with intent, and defensible line by line.
- Launch. A system built for scale: guidelines, launch assets and the identity applied across web and digital.
Brand identities we have built
Strata, an enterprise SaaS platform, needed to express integration with clarity rather than complexity. Its idea is every layer, working as one: five horizontal layers that share one structure and one direction, and together form a quiet letter S. Modular grids and STRATA Blue carry the idea through the whole system.
TITAN, an enterprise cybersecurity company, needed to signal strength to technical buyers without selling fear. Its idea is The Digital Guardian: a shield-like form that holds a hidden T in its negative space, with controlled geometry in place of padlocks, hooded hackers and binary code.
Six more identities, for AI, fintech, data, infrastructure and fitness companies, are in the case studies.
Brand identity design cost and timeline
Core, a logo identity, starts from $1,500. Foundation, a complete identity with strategy essentials, applications and guidelines, starts from $2,500 and runs two to three weeks. Gravity adds full strategy and positioning, naming or verbal identity, a social media marketing kit, and motion and digital expression. It starts from $5,000 and runs three to four weeks.
Every project gets a defined scope, price and dates for every stage before work begins. The packages are set out in full under pricing.
Questions about brand identity design
Can you redesign an existing brand? Yes. A rebrand starts with what already carries equity, then rebuilds the rest around the position the company is moving into.
Who owns the identity? You do. Full ownership and copyright transfer on final payment, with no licensing conditions attached.
Do you work with companies outside your country? Arvonn works with companies worldwide. Projects run remotely, and every call is scheduled around your time zone.
