Visual identity design

Arvonn is a branding agency that designs visual identities as systems, not sets of assets: a mark, typography, colour and a graphic language that stay recognisable on every screen, page and product.

Visual identity by Arvonn: the Xoto logo in turquoise on deep teal, built on one 45° angle

What a visual identity covers

A visual identity is how a brand looks, everywhere it appears. It covers the logo and symbol, typography, colour, imagery, layout and the graphic language that lets people recognise the brand even when the logo is absent.

Good visual identities are systems. They are built from a small number of rules that produce a large number of consistent results, so a designer who has never met the brand can still make something that belongs to it.

A system, not a set of assets

  • Logo and symbol. The mark and its versions, constructed on one geometry. See logo design.
  • Typography. Typefaces and a hierarchy that carry the brand’s voice on screen and in print.
  • Colour. A defined palette with roles: which colour leads, which supports and which signals.
  • Imagery. How photography, illustration and 3D are chosen, cropped and treated.
  • Graphic language. The shapes, grids, patterns and motion that come from the brand’s idea.
  • Layout. Grids and composition rules for the formats the brand uses most.
  • Guidelines. The rules written down clearly enough to be used, with examples.

How the system comes from one idea

For Xoto, a data intelligence platform, the idea is intelligence in motion. Everything is built on one 45° angle, and the graphic language is made of trajectories, data paths and signals that rise, intersect and continue beyond the frame. Colour works as information: Deep Teal gives depth and stability, Xoto Turquoise is the active force, and brighter signals carry more importance.

For HuroPay, a fintech payments brand, the idea is built for movement. A modular, interlocking symbol suggests continuous exchange between people, accounts and payment networks. Deep indigo and purple establish trust, while cyan, pink and warm orange bring optimism, across the banking app, payment cards, campaigns and print.

For BASALQ, an infrastructure and engineering company, bright coral is used sparingly against charcoal, slate and white, as a controlled signal of progress and action.

Built to hold at scale

A visual identity earns its keep when the company grows: more people making more things, in more markets. We test every system on the touchpoints that matter for the business, from product interfaces and pitch decks to signage and apparel, and we write the guidelines so the identity holds without us in the room.

Cost and timeline

Visual identity is part of every package beyond a logo. Foundation, a complete identity with logo, typography, colour, applications and guidelines, starts from $2,500 and runs two to three weeks. Gravity adds full strategy, verbal identity, a complete visual system, and motion and digital expression. It starts from $5,000 and runs three to four weeks.
